'We are going to be attracting businesses to N.J.'

Gov. Chris Christie during press conference in his first full day in office:

"We have become a state that had onerous business regulation, the highest tax rate in America and it was just not a place that was welcoming to business. We want to set a tone from the first day of this administration that we want the businesses that are here to stay, we want them to expand here and we are going to be attracting businesses to New Jersey."

$1.6 billion Football Stadium to Open In Spring

The $1.6 billion New Meadowlands Stadium will officially open in August for Jets and Giants preseason games. However, there will be events in the stadium before then including the Big City Lacrosse Tournament on April 10; Bon Jovi on May 26, 27, and 28; and U2 on July 19.

Christie nominates DEP Commissioner

Bob Martin, a senior partner with Accenture - the consulting, technology services and outsourcing company -- will be nominated by Chris Christie to serve as commissioner of the Department of Environmental Protection, while former Jersey City Mayor Bret Schundler was named to be education commissioner, the governor-elect announced today.
